Economies of the world are inter-connected in one way or the other. Chief argument is that mere integration without developing basic economic structures and forcing the weaker nations to accept terms and commerce make such nations dependent on stronger for durable and other finished goods. Such arguments carry notes of realism and inform the underdeveloped conditions of the North East region of India. Look East Policy initiated in early nineties has been a turning point for making a foray into a move to forge a greater economic and strategic tie with Association for South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). Otherwise North East region would have been impossible to come up on account of its wild geographical terrain and features. So to say, this book seeks to critically engage and question the basis and practice of India's development in the aforesaid region.
