Long Way Down chronicles the motorbike journey of two fellow actors, which inspires them for a longer journey to different continents. Covering an extraordinary 15,000 miles on road with few more men, their journey is an exciting story that the book offers to readers. Summary of the book Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their motorbikes from east from London to New York via Eurasia and North America. The pair couldn’t stop the impulse for longer rides as travel fanatics. They then visited Africa on an UNICEF initiative which made it all the more desirable. They hence joined up with producer/directors Russ Malkin and David Alexanian and others to form the Long Way Round team. Their journey began from John O’Groats at the northernmost tip of Scotland to the Cape Agulhas on the southernmost tip of South Africa. They rode and drove in the mildest and the harshest of the climatic conditions. Long Way Down is adapted as a television series and a DVD document as well. The readers are surely to be taken on an exciting expedition, which the book has to offer to them while reading. About the authors Ewan McGregor was born in the United Kingdom and lives in London. He is a popular actor who has played various roles in more than thirty movies. He rides the motorbikes MV Agusta F45 and KTM Duke. Velvet Goldmine, Little Voice, Moulin Rouge, Black Hawk Down, Young Adam and Big Fish, Star Wars are some of his famous films. Charley Boorman is an actor who lives in London. He spent much of his childhood riding motorcross bikes. From 1998 to 2002, he was in a British motorcycle team with Ewan McGregor, and won the Superstock Series with David Jeffries. Deliverance, Excalibur, The Emerald Forest, Hope and Glory, Karaoke, The Serpent's Kiss and The Bunker are some of the movies he has appeared in.
