Modern love has new colours, and true love, to be honest, is on the decline. Withthe passage of time, It has been turning in a new direction. In the metropolitancities, it is no more a matter of heart. People are loving with a perfect plan thatworks in their favour. Students have given it a new name, friendship. They don’twant their love to be called something else. For some boys and girls it has becomecommercial. Love in Delhi Metro is a satire on the young generation living in themetropolitan cities. Boys and girls pretend to love each other, but that’s not thecase. There are no feelings in them. They have some purpose under their sleeves.Boys long for romance while girls want only shopping at any cost. The story dealswith this theme. Both characters have their set goals, especially the girl. She has tobuy clothes, and therefore she makes him believe that she has a crush on him. Butthe boy has no such a target. It is a different matter that he engages in kissing herand later on becomes errotic. The girl doesn’t offer any resistance. Actually, she ison a mission. The book highlights this type of love in a crystal clear way. I’m surethe readers will like it will give them a clear picture of what has been happening inthe name of love in Delhi.
