The Moon is devoted to the Earth. Moon takes close to 29.5 days to complete one cycle around the Earth. As it circumambulates around the Earth, the Earth is circumambulating around the Sun while revolving on her own axis. From the earth, the moon appears to grow and recede as the light of the sun reflects off the moon. Moon enormously influences the mental, emotional and psychological makeup of human life on Earth; even more so a woman’s biology through the menstruation cycle. A single cycle of the Moon has two phases - 15 days of waxing phase followed by 15 days of waning. During the waxing phase, the fifteen aspects of sun’s light arrives in the moon one after the other. It moves the moon towards becoming Full. Then during the waning cycle, this light appears to return back to the Sun in the order it came. It moves the moon towards becoming Empty. Each light aspect arriving and departing the moon is associated with an Eternal aspect of consciousness called Nitya Devi. There are 15 Lunar Nitya Devis - each with a unique name, and numerous unique qualities. These Nitya’s are believed to influence different aspects of the human psyche on an everyday basis. This workbook series makes a humble attempt to support you in tapping into the wisdom of the arriving and departing Nityas in a practical way. It consists of four parts and this is the first one in the series.
