The formula is superior to other liquid electrical tapes because it has a vinyl base instead of rubber. Rubber is fine for “dipping” tools to provide a secure grip, but it is not the best way to provide a secure, long-lasting, air- and watertight dielectric seal. Rubber is susceptible to most solvents as well as aging and cracking.
