Man Alone with Himself is a philosophical treatise written by Friedrich Nietzsche. Summary of the Book In this title, Nietzsche asserts that every superior human being will instinctively aspire after a secret citadel where he is set free from the crowd, the many, the majority. The book is published as a part of the Great Ideas series by Penguin Books, which brings out the works of the great thinkers, philosophers, pioneers, revolutionaries and futurists, whose ideas have been enlightening, inspiring, and provoking thought of humans, and helped make us who we are. About Friedrich Nietzsche Friedrich Nietzsche was a celebrated German philosopher, poet, thinker, and cultural critic. He was a prolific writer, who wrote on a various topics like philosophy, religion, morality, culture, and science. Nietzsche has been critically acknowledged by the audience and critics and has been referred to as an excellent thinker of all times. However, his works have also courted disputes and controversies. Original and blatant, his works have nonetheless left an eternal effect on world philosophy and literature. He passed away in 1900, at the age of 55.
