The manual has been prepared according to the syllabus of allied health science courses offered in many health universities of India. General anatomy has been discussed in brief in Section I and it provides a sound foundation for understanding the body structure in general. The Section II (musculoskeletal system) is specially designed for physiotherapy students. The organ system with basics on embryology is essential for all the allied health science courses and is discussed in Section III. The central nervous system endocrines and special senses have been discussed in Section IV. Three-dimensional coloured diagrams have been provided for better understanding of the most difficult and also for the important topics. Such topics are also supplemented with line diagrams which can be reproduced very easily by students in subjective evaluation examinations . At the end of each block an exercise section has been formulated which enables the students to evaluate themselves by answering objective questions. The model questions will help the students a lot in preparing for the sessional and university examinations. The objectives of all the chapters have been clearly identified. About the Author Dr. Sampath Madhyastha has been teaching human anatomy to the students of medical dentistry and various allied health science courses for the last twelve years. Currently he is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Anatomy Kasturba Medical College Manipal University Mangalore. Apart from teaching he has published many scientific papers in both national and international journals. He has been awarded Dr. T. MA Pai Gold Medal for Excellence in Medical Research in the years 2003 and 2005.
