A Manual Of Hindu Astrology, true to its name, is a book on traditional Hindu astrology written by B. V. Raman. The book contains chapters such as The Zodiac and The Planetary System, Preliminaries Explained, The Ayanamsa, Rasimanas, Sunrise and Sunset, Measures and Conversion of Time, Graha Sphutas, Langa Sphuta, Dasama Bhava Sphuta, Bhava Sphutas, Casting the Horoscope According to the Western Method and Its Reduction to the Hindu, and The Shodasavargas. The book also has tables for Charakhandas (1* to 60* n lat), Terrestrial Latitudes and Longitudes, Equation of Time, Standard Times, Sunrise and Sunset, and Lords of Vargas. It has an index of technical terms that people with no prior knowledge about or experience in astrology might need for clarifications. B. V. Raman, born on August 8, 1912, was a famous author and astrologer. He was a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and a member of the Royal Asiatic Society. Raman died on December 20, 1998.
