The objective of the book Mechanical Engineering: Unconventional Machining Processes is to enable the students to understand the various unconventional machining processes, their advantages, and applications in diverse areas of production and manufacturing, such as in automobile engineering, aerospace, nuclear, electronic industries, and press working and tool room industries.Processes discussed in this study include—Ultrasonic Machining, Abrasive Jet Machining, Water Jet Machining, Electrochemical Grinding, Laser Beam Machining, Electron Beam Machining, Plasma Arc Machining, Chemical Machining, Magnetic Abrasive Finishing, Abrasive Flow Machining, Electro-stream Drilling, and Shaped Tube Electrolytic Machining.The need for these processes, methods of classifying these processes, how different energy sources are deployed, operating principles, process description, details of equipment used, mechanism of metal removal, their advantages and applications, MRR (Metal Removal Rate), accuracy and surface finish obtainable in these processes and recent developments have been discussed in this book with a number of illustrations and figures (in a Question Answer format) for effective understanding and comprehension of the subject.
