The book is mainly focused on the global scenario of diabetes mellitus and its present status in the northeastern part of India. North-East, the richest reservoir of plant diversity of India having more than 1500 ethnomedicinal active plant species, out of which 465 plants are having significant healing properties against several diseases. The traditional practitioners of the northeast region are quite effectively using the plant resources for a long time. In consideration of the above facts, the book is written which summaries the collective information about the potential plants of northeast used for the treatment of diabetes along with their source and alternative uses.
