Traditionally it is, for instance, used for medicinal purposes and the production of soap.Jatropha planted in rows forms an effective hedge protecting crops from browsing livestock, serving as wind and fire barriers Biodiesel is extracted from this seed. HOW TO GROW: Place jatropha seeds in cold water. Discard the smallest seeds that are smaller than kidney beans and the ones that sink, as they are not likely to germinate.Allow the rest of the seeds to soak overnight for about 12 hours. You can also remove the seeds from the water after determining which ones sink or float, then nick each of them with knife. Soaking or nicking helps improve germination rates.
