This series is a study of the development of the Art of War in India, and not a descriptive list of every battle that has been fought in our land. Only such battles are discussed here as can teach a military student what to do and what not to do. Mere skir mishes, panic flights without striking a blow, rebel lions and riots are outside the scope of this study. Sieges and naval fights will not be treated here.
