He authored about 42 books; edited 15 volumes; 16 souvenirs and special numbers in library and information science; compiled 18 bibliographies and 3 indices; prepared more than 300 appears; and reviewed about 200 books or journals in English and Telugu in various periodicals. He has written the largest number of books on library science in any regional language in India. He was awarded many prizes and citations for his books by the southern Languages Books Trust, government of India (thrice), Andhra Pradesh Sahitya Academy, Telugu University, Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh Bolala Academy. He is the Secretary of the Prof. Kaula Endowment for Library and Information Science. He served as a member on several expert Committees set up by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and was nominated as Chairman of the Central Sectional Committees on Public Libraries of the Indian Library Association twice in 1988-90 and 1990-92. recently he was elected as Vice-President, ILA.
