Prof. Karam Tej Singh Sarao secured first class first in M.A. (History) from Delhi University in the year 1979. Thereafter he also did his M.Phil. (Chinese & Japanese Studies) and Ph.D. from Delhi University. Prof. Sarao secured his second doctorate from the University of Cambridge (U.K.) where he worked as a Commonwealth Scholar from 1985 to 1989. After having taught for over a decade at the prestigious Kirori Mal College of Delhi University, Prof. Sarao joined the Department of Buddhist Studies (Delhi University) in 1993 where at present he is the Professor Head. Professor Sarao has authored eight books and has over 40 research papers and articles to his credit. He has taught as a visiting professor at various Universities in the U.K., Canada, Germany and Singapore and has read research papers in over a dozen international conferences in Germany, France, U.K., Canada, USA, Singapore, Taiwan, Holland and Austria.
