In this book titled ‘Modulewise Engineering Physics’ six modules namely: electromagnetic fields and waves; quantum mechanics; oscillatons; semiconductor physics; applied optics; and laser and optical fiber; are thoroughly discussed, which cover the new syllabus of ‘Applied Engineering Physics’ as prescribed by the University of Jammu for the B.E. /B.Tech First Year students. The purpose of this book is to provide in-depth information on the fundamentals of Engineering Physics to the student community to improve their general understanding of the subject. It is primarily designed to serve as a textbook for undergraduate students. It will also serve as a reference book for undergraduate science (B.Sc) students, scientists, technologists, and practitioners of various branches of engineering. The book thoroughly explains all the relevant and important topics in an easy-to-understand manner. Also, all previously asked questions and numerical problems in External Engineering Physics papers are answered in the book. Plenty of solved examples and well-labeled illustrations are provided in every module for a better understanding of the concepts and their applications. In the end, the previous year’s External Engineering Physics papers are also provided. The overall presentation of this book is concentrated to make the concept as simple as possible, understandable, and more interesting for the students.
