Mona’s Compulsion is a book by Anand Julka that revolves around parallel but interlinked plots of terrorism and emotional dilemma. Spread across exotic locations like Nainital, and ashrams across India, Mona’s Compulsion is a thrilling read that takes on issues like the caste system in India, as well as the effects of terrorism on India and Pakistan. Summary Of The Book The Khalistan issue has been left ignored by the West. To draw their attention, the trained terrorist Tony hatches the deadly plot of bombing an Air India Plane. This plan kicks off a chain of events that spin out of Tony’s control. Neil Banerjee, one of the rising young police officers, is given the job of pursuing Tony and bringing him to justice. However, the fact that Neil and Tony were childhood friends, further complicate matters. In another scenario that unfolds parallel to Tony’s terror plot, Neil’s wife, Mona attempts suicide. Mona’s life was a spoilt one, thanks mostly to her mother, an over-indulgent woman. However, it was not all gung-ho, with Mona’s relationship with her grandmother being a rather bitter one. Real-life issues like terrorism in the state of Pakistan have been included by the author as key parts of the story. Neil Banerjee’s hunt for his childhood friend leads him towards Islamabad’s “Freedom Academy”, which is sheltering terrorists like Bin Laden. His personal life lies in tatters because of his professional life, and his work of pursuing the dangerous terrorists is carried out under immense stress. About Anand Julka Anand Julka founded his own technology company in 1983, of which he is now the President. He is known for several philanthropic activities. He is an IIT Delhi pass out. In 1974, he completed a course in Industrial Engineering from CSU. In 1982, he completed his MBA course from CWRU.
