The author writes about his personal experiences and the ceaseless procession of puppies, toads, varieties of exotic insects, octopuses, bats, and butterflies into their home. This book will make for a very interesting and delightful read for young readers. About Gerald Durrell Gerald Durrell was an English naturalist, zookeeper, author and television presenter. He founded the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and the Jersey Zoo on the Channel Island of Jersey. He was born in Jamshedpur, India on 7 January, 1925. The Durrell family moved to the Greek island of Corfu in 1935 and lived there until 1939. This interval was later the basis of the famous Corfu trilogy including My Family and Other Animals, Birds, Beasts, and Relatives, and The Garden of the Gods.
