It is used as a replacement for traditional peat in soil mixtures or as a soil-less substrate for plant cultivation. It is free of bacteria and most fungal spores, and is sustain-ably produced without the environmental damage caused by peat mining. It is added so that the container retains more moisture for the plants and it reduces the weight on your balcony/terrace. Has the ability to store and release nutrient to plants for extended periods of time. It also has great Oxygenation properties which is important for healthy root development.
