My Way Is The Highway is the story of a twenty-something girl who sets out on a road trip, stumbling onto one adventure after another, while eventually being transformed by her journey. Summary Of The Book   My Way Is The Highway is Urvashi Gulia’s debut novel. It narrates the story of Mansha Sharan, a girl who embarks on a solo road trip. The book can been classified under chick lit, a genre that presents a lighthearted and humorous take on the life of the modern woman. Mansha Sharan, or Manki, is a lively, often foul-mouthed, Delhi-based TV reporter in her late twenties. She lives life on her own terms. Manki lives alone, works way too much, and despises her lecherous boss. She also binges on omelettes, cigarettes, caffeine, and alcohol. She also has a weird habit of naming pretty much everything, including her possessions. She even calls her jeep Iqbal Mastani. Manki’s sleazy boss is the bane of her life. He incessantly creates trouble for her. One day, when he passes on her exclusive story to another reporter, Manki’s frustration reaches boiling point. In the heat of the moment, she walks out on her boss. She then sets outs on an impulsive road trip to the mountains with Iqbal Mastani for company. On her trip, she meets cute guys who take her camping and fishing. She also does things she wouldn’t have normally done. To top it all off, she ends up falling in love. The book progresses in a linear fashion and covers Manki’s soul-searching journey as she takes in interesting new experiences, encounters new people, and undergoes an inner transformation of sorts.
