How to grow Malabar Spinach from seeds? In India end of winter season is the perfect time to sow the seeds of Malabar Spinach.Since it is a climbing plant you have to give it plant support system such as a trellis, chain-link fence, poles, or a teepee.You can prepare soil mixture with 40% garden soil,40%organic compost and 20%sand.You do not need to soak the seeds of Malabar Spinach before sowing them. To direct seed Malabar spinach in garden soil, plant the seeds one-quarter inch deep, 1 to 2 inches apart, leaving 3 feet between rows. First dig the top soil and make hole like 1/2inch and put the seeds in this holes,cover the hole using soil mixture and add water as you need (do not give too much water).Put the tob in direct sunlight.You have to notice that the soil remains moist ,it is helping the seeds to germinate.The seeds will germinate between6-7 days. Like most greens, Malabar spinach needs a high-nitrogen fertilizer for healthy leaf growth. Feed it once every three to four weeks during the growing season.
