NABARD plays an important role in economic and social development by providing finance both for Seasonal Agricultural Operations and Rural Development. NABARD’s role in bringing about overall growth of the rural areas by evolving and implementing holistic schemes by extending refinance support to Co-operatives, Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) and Commercial Banks (CBS) in order to provide loans for Seasonal Agricultural Operation (SAP), Farm Sector (FS) and Non-Farm Sector (NFS). The role of NA BARD in Agriculture and Rural Development is described in terms of credit and development functions.
