Yantra is for worship of the shadow planet Surya also called the "North Node" of the Moon which is one of the known natural malefic. Surya can be appeased through devoted worship and chanting of Surya mantra to prevent hidden enemies, wrong diagnosis of illness, deceit from those around us and negative energies from affecting well-being. He is the presiding deity of this shadow (Chhaya). According to the rigveda when Surya - the son of Asuya or Sinhika covers the sun and the moon with his darkness, then it becomes so dark that the people became unable even to identify their places. The presiding deity of Surya is 'Kaal'. It is symbolised by a black flag in north west direction among all the nine planets. The great phase of Dragon's head lasts for 18 years. Barring few situations it is generally considered to be an inauspicious planet. Yantra literally means "Instrument or Machine", which is used for various purposes such as to diminish the ill effects of the nine planets, to attain good health and prosperity, to enhance the quality of one's life, attract prosperity, abundance, love, harmony, peace, enhance learning, promote career advancement, achieve desired goals in projects, improve business, remove obstacles and protection from negative forces.
