The Department of Applied Mechanics ',plied Mechanics Department is one of the pioneering departments of the institute. It is entrusted with teaching Engineering Mechanics subject to all the disciplines, Strength of Materials to Civil and Mechanical Engineering and subjects related to Structural Analysis and Design to Civil Engineering Students. The department also conducts post graduate" course in Structural Engineering of two years duration on regular basis. The department is recognized as a Research Centre for carrying out PhD. programmes. Facilities for testing building materials such as cement, brick, aggregates, concrete, steel etc. are available in the department. Advanced software on Structural Analysis and Design are available at the Computer Centre of the Department. These facilities are being used for teaching, research and providing consultancy services to various private and Government organizations. The highly qualified and experienced faculty of the department is actively involved in research and development, and generating revenue for the institute.
