Education, training and skill development of our youth are gaining momentum considering massive expansion in the capacity building of Engineering Colleges, Technical Institutes, Polytechnics, ITIs and Vocational Training Centres. But qualitative improvement of technically trained personnel, which is equally important and desirable, has not come about to the level required.Small, micro, medium and large scale engineering, technology and manufacturing industries and extensive infrastructure development taking place in our country need adequately trained engineers and skilled personnel with necessary knowledge and competencies to meet domestic demand and do well in export competitiveness.
