About Enid Blyton Enid Blyton was a famous author of children's books. Her real name was Mary Pollock and she has sold in excess of 600 million books globally. Enid Blyton’s works include The Enid Blyton Book of Fairies, The Animal Book, A Book of Little Plays, The Red Pixie Book, Tales of the Romans, More Letters from Bobs, Secret of the Old Mill, The Adventurous Four Again, Enid Blyton's Lucky Story Book, The Little Green Duck and Other Stories, Billy and Betty at the Seaside, The Further Adventures of Josie, Click and Bun! and Amelia Jane Again. Enid Blyton was born in East Dulwich, London on 11 August 1897 and attended Beckenham’s St. Christopher’s School. She also went to Ipswich High School to train as a teacher. She also taught at Surbiton, Bickley and Chessington for a period of five years. Enid Blyton has written almost eight hundred books throughout a literary career spanning almost forty years and her books have been translated into ninety languages. She was once a trained pianist but gave up her musical career after teacher training. She passed away in 1968 at the age of 71.
