The current book titled new techniques in plant breeding has 9 chapters divisible in two sections. The first section focuses on new plant breeding techniques in crop improvement through reverse breeding, marker assisted selection, use of molecular markers and through non-coding RNAs in the regulation of gene expression. Second section includes four chapters and stresses on contribution of pod wall in seed development, recycling of respired carbon dioxide, biology, biotechnology and genetic diversity of fenugreek, induced resistance for plant disease management and RNAi application in entomology. Each chapter is an authoritative account of the topic discussed and is compiled by the expert (s) in the field. The present volume is certain to become the standard reference for scientists, professionals and graduate students interested in crop plant development and productivity.
