A new mother will experience profuse bleeding immediately after child birth and continues for more than 10 days. The pads will be required to change every hour or two hours immediately after giving birth. This will reduce to every three hours or four hours over the next three days. Ordinary pads will not suit the purpose as the bleeding will be extensive and there is chances of infection. Hence it’s important to buy maternity pads, rather than ordinary sanitary pads.
