Gonggi is deeply rooted in Korean culture, a game that has evolved over time while maintaining its core characteristics. Traditionally, the game is played with five small stones, called gonggitdol. Although various regional variations exist in Korea, such as jjagebatgi or Salgu, the game mechanics remain similar. In Squid Game, the stones are replaced with colorful plastic pieces, but the game structure remains unchanged. The game unfolds in five levels of increasing difficulty. At the first level, the player must toss one stone into the air, pick up one from the ground, and repeat until all stones are collected. The second level complicates the task, requiring the collection of two stones simultaneously. At the third level, players must collect three stones plus one separately, while at the fourth level, all four stones must be collected in a single movement, keeping the fifth suspended in the air.The fifth and final level is the culmination of the challenge. Players must toss all five stones into the air, flip their hand, and catch them on the top of their hand. Then, the stones are tossed again to be caught before touching the ground.
