A ventriloquist dummy comes to life to scare everyone in R. L. Stine’s Goosebumps: Night of the Living Dummy! Summary of the Book When Lindy and Kris Powell are on a walk, Lindy finds a ventriloquist dummy in a dumpster behind a house under construction. Lindy seems to have a talent for ventriloquism, but Kris is jealous. She asks their parents for a doll of her own and their father buys her a dummy from a pawn shop. Kris names the dummy Mr. Wood. Despite her best efforts, she’s not as good as her twin sister at the art. Lindy tries to help Kris to no avail. Later the same night, they walk into a nightmare. Mr. Wood is strangling Lindy’s dummy. Mr. Wood can walk around, as though he were possessed. And he’s out to get them all. About R. L.
