The book is an introductory text on the non-conventional sources of energy. Summary Of The Book This book provides an overview of the key aspects of the subject and familiarizes students with various alternative energy resources available. Key energy types discussed in the book are solar energy, wind energy, energy from biomass and biogas, geothermal energy, energy from oceans, and chemical energy. Suitable illustrations and examples are given to improve the understanding of the issues discussed. Owing to their many shortcomings, conventional sources of energy, like coal and natural gas are increasingly being supported and substituted by the new and alternative sources of energy. They draw energy from nature, from sunlight, wind, and water waves and are renewable and environment friendly.
