UGC-NET Political Science Previous Papers (Solved) is a collection of past UGC.NET Political Science papers, with solutions. Summary Of The Book The University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts the National Eligibility Test (NET) to select postgraduate candidates for junior research positions and for lecturer posts at various universities and colleges around the country. Besides the NET, certain states conduct their own version of this test known as the State Level or State Eligibility Test (SLET/SET). The syllabus for these tests closely follow the NET syllabus. The test consist of three papers. The first paper is a general aptitude test. The second and third papers are subject specific. The second paper will be of objective type - 50 questions for a total of a hundred marks, Paper III will have two sections. The first section of Paper III will have ten questions, one for each of the ten units. Each question will have internal choices. The answers should be descriptive, in the form of short 300 word essays. Each question carries 16 marks, so the first section carries a total of 160 marks. The second section of Paper III will have three questions. These three questions can relate to any unit among the 10 units covered for the subject syllabus. The candidate needs to attempt only one question. The answer should be a long essay of around 800 words. The marks for this section is 40. So, the total marks for Paper III is 200.
