Black cumin also called as Nigella seeds. In fact, it has been traced back for several centuries as a natural remedy for bronchitis and even diarrhoea. Black cumin seeds nutritionally rich and provide a high range of fat especially Monounsaturated fat, protein and dietary fibre. It contains vitamins like B and E and iron content. The most common Indian name for this spice is kala jeera black cumin, archaically spelled kala jeera; the same name is, most often in English, sometimes given to an entirely unrelated spice, nigella (also called onion seed). Bengali kalo jira and similar names in South India actually refer to nigella. Nigella is popular in the Middle East and Northern India, particularly Bengal.
