"Charles Dickens has very well portrayed the sordid lives of criminals and exposes the cruel treatment of many orphans in London during the mid-19th century. The storyline of Oliver Twist became the vehicle of social criticism which directly aimed at the problems of poverty in London. From then to this day, the Novel is enjoyed by many for its historical social commentary and mysterious plotline."
