One Two Three Infinity deals with a wide range of tricks and puzzle of mathematics and science written in simple manner for middle school students and novice adults. Summary Of The Book One Two Three Infinity starts with an exploration of elementary numbers, it leads with the "Hottentots" (Khoikhoi), concept consisting of words only for "one", "two", "three", and "many", and frames briskly to explore Georg Cantor's theory of three levels of infinity – giving the title of the book. Author’s explorations moves from the mathematics of infinity, to topology, the fourth dimension, relativity, nuclear physics, DNA, evolution, relativity, quantum mechanics, atomic physics, nuclear fission, origin of the solar system etc and all explained using highschool equations in humorous text . Readers trajectory is powerfully affected by problems as estimated age of the universe, how to compare sizes of infinities, imaginary numbers to solve a pirate treasure map, map coloring problem, Möbius strips, time as a dimension, relativity as a coordinate transform, discussion of the history of measurements of the speed of light. Also sums to determine the size of a molecule, Heisenberg uncertainty and wave/particle duality in light, radioactivity and nuclear reactions, including the solar fusion cycle, cryptographic analysis of a simple substitution cipher and others are added. The award winning guide book One Two Three Infinity was originally written by George Gamow in 1947 and then published in 1958.Gamow had written the book in first half of twentieth century still it remains surprisingly relevant to present times. His work includes the fundamental rules which did not changed even with the advanced science. The hand illustrated book is one of the most well received in the popular science genre. This short and readable book has wonderful diagrams and lucid text, more than 120 challenging illustrations supported with good humor at times makes it entertaining. About George Gamow George Gamow was a scientist, professor and astrophysicist. He also practiced advocacy and contributed for the Big bang theory. His popular books are The Birth and Death of the Sun, The Biography of the Earth, The Moon, Biography of Physics, Gravity, A Star Called the Sun, My World Line and many more. He was also well-known for his Mr. Tompkins series. He was having 140 technical and popular articles. He had contributed eight books in the science category. Gamow's writing style was informal showing a gift for memorable metaphors and analogies. His keen sense of humor is very much evident in his popular science writings. Born on March 04, 1904 in Odessa, at the University of Leningrad he chose cosmology as his basic subject. He was guided by A. Friedman. In 1928, he earned a PhD degree. At Cambridge and Copenhagen, Gamow chose quantum mechanics for research. In early 1930 he left Europe for the United States. His research fields were biological genetics, nuclear physics, cosmology, astrophysics, progress of elementary particles properties. In 1956, he was awarded for Mr. Tompkins series. He died on August 19, 1968.
