Regarded as one of the best Oracle programming books available in the market, Oracle PL/SQL Programming is a conclusive tool to learn and explore PL/SQL. This 5th edition has been completely revised to be in line with the Oracle Database 11g Release 2. Summary Of The Book Oracle PL/SQL Programming is a well designed textbook for students and new programmers to learn PL/SQL, and for experienced ones to use as a reference tool. The authors have extensively covered, like in the previous editions of the text, the best practices, advanced coding techniques and language fundamentals. The book uncovers the new features of PL/SQL as per the 11g Release 2. The book is divided into 6 parts that cover a total of 28 chapters, all of which provide sizable code samples that range from simple examples to complete applications. Part I of the text covers Introduction To PL/SQL and Language Fundamentals. Part II addresses the PL/SQL Program Structure with chapters on Conditional and Sequential Control and the next part is dedicated to the study of PL/SQL Program Data and elaborates on various data types. The last part is reserved to discuss topics on Advanced PL/SQL and introduces students to concepts like PL/SQL Architecture, Application Security and more. The 3 annexes at the end of the text provide useful information like Date Format Models and Number Format Models. About The Authors Steven Feuerstein is a software developer and an Oracle database PL/SQL expert. He has written several books including Oracle PL/SQL Best Practices, Advanced Oracle PL/SQL Programming With Packages, and Oracle PL/SQL Programming: A Developer's Workbook. Feuerstein started his career in 1987 with Oracle and worked there for 5 years. He later joined Quest Software in 2001 and has ever since been dedicated on improving the testing of PL/SQL programs. He is currently an Oracle ACE Director and writes for the ODTUG Magazine and the Oracle Magazine. Bill Pribyl is the writer of Learning Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle PL/SQL Programming And Its Companion Pocket Reference. He went to Rice University where he obtained his graduate degree in physics. He was also the editor of the IOUG Technical Journal. He currently devotes his time to help his community in technical matters and serves as the Webmaster at his neighborhood's civic club. He lives with his family in Houston.
