In Organic Spectroscopy, both students and researchers will learn about the latest developments in the vast field of spectroscopy. Summary Of The Book The field of organic spectroscopy examines the interaction between matter and radiation, Techniques such as infrared, mass spectrometry, ultraviolet visible, and nuclear magnetic resonance, are used to measure these interactions. Organic Spectroscopy, is a text ideally suited for undergraduate students of organic chemistry. This text provides an introduction to the application of stereoscopic techniques. In this latest edition of the text, contains the newest developments in the field of spectroscopy which will be beneficial to both students and researchers. The main features of the previous edition, such as a multinuclear approach to presenting theory, summary of recent experiments, stepwise assistance with spectrum analysis, and discussion of many nuclei, have been retained. In this third edition of Organic Spectroscopy, students can expect to find over one hundred exercises for practice, both as worked examples and problem exercises. The chapter containing information of nuclear magnetic resonance has been expanded considerably, taking into consideration the prevailing method of structural determination in the field of organic chemistry. The addition of supplements, which was used in the previous editions, which enables students to understand the material, is once again utilized in this edition. This will help new students to grasp concepts such as NMR, pulse angles, and rotating frames. Discussion of obsolete instruments and methodology is minimized, with more material allocated to spectrometer operation. The latest advancements in Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometers (FTIR), and an expansion of the nuclear magnetic resonance chapter is also provided. Organic Spectroscopy was published in 2011 by Macmillan. The previous editions of this book have been very successful, and this book can be very useful for the Researcher as well as the student.
