Kashyap has written other titles such as Institutions of Governance in South Asia, Understanding the Constitution of India, Delinking Religion and Politics and Human Rights and Parliament. Kashyap has studied at Allahabad University. He is widely decorated and was awarded the honorary title of commander and the degree of H.O.A.S.F for his services. He was also awarded the Motilal Nehru Award twice and the Nehru Fellowship. He is a former Secretary-General of the Lok Sabha and he headed the International Centre for Parliamentary Documentation in Geneva till 1983. He is presently the Centre for Policy Research’s Honorary Research Professor.
