This book is a must-have for all Ruskin Bond fans. It contains fourteen of his famous short stories that give the reader a sneak peek into his life, and are an inspiration for anyone who reads them. Summary of the Book The stories from this book are semi-autobiographical in the way they have been told. They discuss the life of the author from the time when he was a child to his present. In these stories, we are introduced to the author's beautiful imagination and sketches, his family, friends and other people who have left a lasting impression on him. In some of the stories, the readers will get to visit the Garhwal Hills that is much loved by the author. You will also revisit the towns and villages that he goes back to time and again in many of his stories. You will also find A Flight of Pigeons which was made into a film. All of these stories bring Ruskin Bond’s India to life. About Ruskin Bond Ruskin Bond is an Indian writer of British descent. He was recognized by The Indian Council for Child Education for his role in the growth of children’s literature in India. For this, he was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1992 for his work Our Trees Still Grow in Dehra. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1999, and again in 2014. Today, he lives with his adopted family in Landour, near Mussoorie.
