About Imran Khan Imran Khan is a popular cricketer from Pakistan. He first played cricket for his country in the year 1971. Khan had studied at Oxford in 1972. Pakistan: A Personal History is his only book so far. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1952. In 1982, he was made the captain of the team and he continued playing for his country till 1992. He was the captain of the Pakistan cricket team that won the world cup in the year 1992. Khan established a cancer hospital that treated the poor for free in 1994. He established Tehreek-e-Insaf in 1996 in order to provide a more humane approach to politics in Pakistan. He has also founded the Namal College in 2007, which is the only private university in the city of Lahore. He was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in the year 2010.
