Palestine is a graphic novel, which is about Joe Sacco’s experiences in Palestine. Summary He portrays the history and plight of the Palestinians in this book. In the early 1900’s, at the time of the first Infitada, Joe Sacco had spent two months in Palestine. On his trip to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, Sacco traveled extensively and took notes. Upon returning to the Unites States, he started writing and drawing Palestine thereby combining reporting with comic-book writing. In this book, Sacco portrays the life of the people in Palestine and their daily struggles, humiliation and frustrations. About Joe Sacco Joe Sacco is a Maltese-American cartoonist and journalist. He is best known for his books Footnotes in Gaza and The Fixer based on the Bosnian War. He was honored with the American Book Award for Palestine and the Ridenhour Book Prize for Footnotes in Gaza.
