The situation of armed conflict has escalated in the region of North-East India with overt militarization over the years thereby posing a challenge to one’s life, livelihood chances and human rights. India’s engagement to forge peace by using four models of peace such as peace talks, Suspension of Operation, accord making and granting of autonomy are replete with structural weaknesses and insincerity. The book brings out the limitations of such peace initiatives and provides an understanding to the entire spectrum of “peace processes” for peaceful conflict resolution.
