Appa Rao is a distinguished professor of management in the Institute of Management, GITAM University. He has done Master of Business Administration and Masters in English literature and also holds a Doctoral degree from Andhra University. He joined GITAM University after an intensive exposure at various corporate offices for many years. Prior to joining this University, he worked as Director (Personnel) and I/C CMD of a Public Sector Enterprise.
