Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity. She is the consort and Shakti (energy) of Vishnu, one of the major deities of Hinduism and supreme in the Vaishnava tradition. Lakshmi is also an important deity in Jainism and is found in Jain temples. Lakshmi puja can eradicate all types of poverty from the life of the devotees.
