Philosophy of Science: A Very Short Introduction is a book that is aimed at giving a clear overview of the important topics of modern-day philosophy of science. The book starts with a brief history of the subject that aims to enlighten the readers about its various facets. The author goes on to debate on whether there is a difference between science and myths. He also goes on to elaborate on various problems faced in science, such as the issue of classification in Biology and the differences that arise between science and religion. The author of this book, Samir Okasha, specializes in the philosophy of science and is very popular for his research in this field. He is currently working as Professor of Philosophy of Science in the University of Bristol. He has been working in this university since the year 2003 and has worked in several other universities before this. His other popular works include Evolution and the Levels of Selection and Epistemology and the Underdetermination of Theory by Evidence, among others. The author has received his doctorate in the year 1998. He received it from the University of Oxford.
