It discusses the general features of Australasia, the first human inhabitants of Australasia, the Spanish and Portuguese explorers to the Pacific Ocean, the Dutch discoveries, Dampier’s voyages, James cook’s first voyage, New South Wales, cook’s second and third voyages, Bligh and the “Bounty”, and the results of the pioneers’ work. This book is a reprint of the 1912 edition.
