Summary of the Books There is nothing good about murder. Hercule Poirot doesn’t like murders, and he certainly doesn’t like those who try to explain their intentions. However, the 30s and the 40s were a horrible time, and Poirot found murder wherever he went. He could only begin to wonder if anyone had realized that there was one common enemy. Three Act Tragedy When a respectable dinner party ends in the death of a Vicar, everyone assumes he was poisoned. However, only Hercule Poirot seems to think that the cocktail that the Vicar was sipping on would be free from poison. And Poirot begins to wonder if there is any motive at all, or if this is just a cold-blooded murder without rhyme or reason.
