The book introduces a theoretically coherent political geography to the students combining the traditional approach with recent and radical developments based on the world system perspective. Besides providing an understanding of the fundamental principles and the changing nature of political geography, the book also examines the organic state, geopolitics, territoriality, frontiers and boundaries, population and resources. Epistemologically, it gives an insight into the core-periphery dichotomy in the global politics. The book will prove as an essential text for the students of political geography, international relations and political science. About the Author Sudeepta Adhikari is Professor of Geography, Patna University, Patna. He was awarded scholarship by the Government of India for higher studies in the Leningrad State University. He has, to his credit, a large number of research papers published in various national and international journals and periodicals.
