It is also observed that although masculinity plays a vital role in the stories of these books, it is as close to as being non-existent in literature. The books that were studied included many social issues like gender and sexual politics, feminism and masculinity, sexual violence, cultural clashes, marriage among many other subjects of upper middle class life. Yet, masculinity and the changing faces of it during different phases of time have not been chronicled as a significant matter of social science. This book is an important study on the same for scholars in the field of Social Sciences as well as literature. About the authors Rajeshwar Mittapalli was born in Andhra Pradesh, India. He was the editor of the Atlantic Literary Review. Rajeshwar has written for many national and international journals and has contributed to the fields of fiction and travel writing. He is currently the Professor of English at the Kakatiya University in Andhra Pradesh. The Novels of Wole Soyinka and Indian Women Novelists and Psychoanalysis are among his works of Criticism. Letizia Alterno has authored Raja Rao: An Introduction. She is also associated with the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Manchester.
