As per Pauraink katha Lord Kuber is deemed to give a loan of Rs 400 crores to the Lord Venkateshwara for his marriage with Princes Padmavati. In remembrance of this, the devotees go to Tirupati to donate money in Venkateshwara’s Hundi, so that he can pay it back to Kuber.
