This book is for anyone who struggles in knowing how to pray. Thebook explores the Lord’s Prayer - the how-to-pray guide that Jesustaught in response to an unnamed disciple’s request, “Lord, teach us topray.” The book develops the structure of the prayer - the address, thefirst three petitions about God, and the last three petitions dealing withthe stuff of our lives - identifying the spiritual truths upon which eachsection is built. It shows how those spiritual truths speak to our anxietyand worries about the present, our guilt, regret, and shame about thepast, and our fears about the not-yet-experienced future. Treating theprayer Jesus taught as a how-to-pray guide, the book shows us how ourexperience of prayer can become more meaningful and fulfilling - a wayof connecting with God as we grow spiritually into the likeness of Christ.
